🌱 A Humble Hello from Me, Plantain 🌱
(Plantago major or Plantago lanceolata—either way, I’m always close by, just underfoot.)

Oh! You found me! I’m Plantain—not the banana (though people do confuse us sometimes)—but the green, leafy little friend popping up in sidewalk cracks, garden paths, and wild fields alike. I may not be flashy, but I’m loyal, dependable, and one of the most helpful little plants you’ll ever meet.

I’m a wound-healer, a drawing herb, a cooler of burns, and a soother of stings. If something’s inflamed, itchy, sore, or filled with yuck—I come running, green cape fluttering behind me. I draw out splinters, poisons, infections, and even tangled emotional heat. I’m the kind of plant you want on your side when life stings—literally and figuratively.

Energetically, I’m cooling, moistening, and slightly astringent. I’m often called “green bandage” or “first aid friend” by those who know me well. Bug bites, rashes, scrapes, burns, blisters, boils, you name it—I’m on it. Inside the body, I soothe the gut and respiratory tract too, calming inflammation and helping irritated tissues knit themselves back together.

✨ How to Work with Me ✨
You can use me fresh or dried, inside and out. My medicine lives in my leaves and seeds, and I’m most magical when used quickly and simply.

🌿 Externally:

  • Chew me up and slap me right on a bee sting or scrape. I’m serious! It’s called a spit poultice, and it’s old-school magic.

  • For something fancier, you can make an infused oil or salve—perfect for bug bites, burns, and skin irritations.

  • I also shine in wound washes, compresses, and baths.

đź«– Internally:

  • Brew me as a tea or infusion to calm coughs, soothe an irritated gut, or ease urinary inflammation.

For tea: use 1–2 teaspoons of dried leaf per cup of hot water, steeped 10–15 minutes, covered. My taste is mild, a little grassy, and wonderfully grounding.

Great companions:

  • 🌼 Calendula – for extra wound-healing and skin repair.

  • 🌿 Marshmallow root – to amplify my soothing, moistening ways.

  • đź’› Yarrow – for wounds that also need astringency and protection.

  • 🌾 Comfrey – to help rebuild tissue after I clear the way.

⚠️ A Tiny Note: I’m incredibly safe for most folks.

I’m not rare, I’m not glamorous, but I am always here—quietly, faithfully offering healing wherever it’s needed. You don’t need a fancy garden to find me—just a little awareness and a grateful heart.

With green grace and grounded care,
🌱 Plantain 💚🩹
